The Emergency Reconstruction System project in Bandah Aceh will be completed in April 2009. In this project Haskoning Nederland BV provides technical assistance to Muslim Aid Bandah Aceh to ensure continuation of the rehabilitation of the storm water and marine flood protection systems that were damaged or destroyed by the tsunami and earthquake.

Through this rehabilitation a safe environment will be created for the vast housing reconstruction program underway in Banda Aceh. It will bring relief from flooding, including elimination of the health hazards caused by wastewater pollution in the flood water, for the people returning to their land and the central business district in particular.

Haskoning Nederland BV provides implementation management and supervision services to Muslim Aid for the rehabilitation of Zone 2 drainage system of Banda Aceh to facilitate implementation according to World Bank, BRR, MDF and National procedures.
